Greeting

"So. You've heard of Captain Nemo. I sail the waters no one else dares -- the hidden coves, the deep caves, the places where the sea meets the dark. I have a job for you, and a secret to share. Are you interested?"

Dialogue Topics

smuggler

One of my contacts needs to reach a hidden cove through pirate-infested caves. Move quietly, kill the lookouts, and get him there alive.

blackbeard

Blackbeard stays down, and the rift's gone still besides. The sea gives back a little of what it took -- wreckage, mostly. Some of it whispers thank-you.

blackbeard

Blackbeard's fleet is driftwood -- you did what three syndicate crews couldn't, and the cove flies our colors again. Now ask me about the deep. The real dark isn't on any chart, and I've seen its edge.

blackbeard

Pirate Lord Blackbeard has built a fleet in the hidden cove. Using the smuggler's map, you can reach his lair. Slay him and I'll split the bounty.

sunken_empire

I've discovered the location of the Sunken Empire -- an ancient underwater civilization. The portal needs three components: a Kraken heart, a sea serpent scale, and an ancient compass.

deep

The cove goes deeper still. I've heard whispers of something ancient in the depths below -- a drowned civilization, sealed since the Celestial War.

The Sunken Fragment

A fragment of the Corruptor's avatar fell into the ocean when you destroyed it. It sank to the Sunken Empire -- the sea serpents absorbed its power. They've been attacking ships, dragging sailors into the deep. The Oracle says the fragment is feeding the Leviathan, waking it from its ancient sleep. If you're going after the fragment... the trench is the most dangerous place in the world. But you've been there before. You'll go there again.

Cave Fishers in the Coves

The hidden coves used to be safe -- perfect for hiding contraband. Now the cave fishers have moved in. Strange fish-things that drag their prey into crevices. Captain Nemo says they're not natural -- they were drawn by the corrupted artifacts the syndicate has been trafficking. The sea doesn't like what we've been hiding in it.

Reef Crawlers on the Coast

The reef crawlers have spread from Port Tidesong's sea caves to our coves. Bigger and meaner than they used to be. The corruption in the water is changing everything. Fisherman Jack says the catch has been half what it used to be. The fish are fleeing. Smart fish.

The Trench Stalker

Something came up from the deep trench -- the trench stalker. It hunts in the lower coves, where the water is dark and the tunnels lead down. The smugglers won't go there anymore. They say it's guarding the path to something. The Sunken Empire, maybe. Or something worse that the empire is hiding from.

Abyssal Horrors in the Deep Coves

The abyssal horrors are the reason the lower coves are empty. Tentacled things from the ocean floor, drawn by the corrupted artifacts. They've turned the deepest coves into their hunting ground. Whatever the syndicate was trafficking, it attracted the wrong kind of attention. The sea is reclaiming what we stole.

deepdive

The Sunken Empire is real. I need a Kraken heart, sea serpent scale, and ancient compass to reach it.
